U.S. Supreme Court Rules CFPB Structure Unconstitutional

In a landmark decision today, Monday June 29, 2020, the United States Supreme Court ruled the structure of the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, (CFPB) unconstitutional. They also diluted the protection of that department’s leadership role by giving the President of the United States power to remove that person at will without cause.

HousingWire.com reported on Monday June 29, 2020 the details of the ruling and implications for the CFPB which was formed under the Dodd-Frank law in 2010 in response to the financial crash of 2008.
